In this century, women need to be empowered with education, employment, decision making, and better health in view of a just society. Women Empowerment entails making women financially independent, progressive, educated and also partake in enjoying good social status. It would therefore be a fallacy to dream about sustainable development in a community if women and youths are not righty empowered. It’s about time youths started taking charge of their lives and that of the society and this is simply done by addressing their situation and then take action in order to improve their access to resources and transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values, and attitudes. Youth and women empowerment aims to improve the quality of life of the society. Let’s go on this Journey together!

Our Goal

Our goals is to motivate women and youths for effective nations building through advocacy, sensitization and capacity building.

Vision

DIWOYEF is established for the economic, social and Political Empowerment of women and youths in Nigeria and Africa at large, to in a long run improve the economy, political participation as well as peace and security of the communities in which they live.

Mission

Our mission is to empower women, young and disabled people by mainstreaming their issues and concerns into the National development agenda, based on the United Nations Convention on the rights of women and young people.

Thematic Areas

We work in the following thematic areas: Democracy and Good Governance, Entrepreneurship and Legislative Advocacy. Our development strategies include: Civic Engagement, Capacity Building, Voters Education and Development Networking.

Our members are market women, professional women, women petty traders, students, traditional craft women, cooperatives, vocational training centers, and self-help women groups representing over 500,000 women and youths spread all over the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. A lot of projects have been carried out in different parts of the country; bringing women and youths together from all geographical areas of the country towards achieving our aforementioned VMG.
